Puppy Buying Info
Thank you for your interest in a Small Munsterlander from Shotgun Rider kennel. My goal is to produce truly versatile hunting dogs with excellent physical structure and conformation that are also exceptional family companions. This is accomplished through health screening and hip x-rays, passing NAVHDA’s advanced hunt tests, and conformation and temperament evaluation.
The current price is $1,800, for either a male or female. A $400 deposit is required to hold a puppy for you. I only take deposits after the pregnancy is confirmed and it is only returned to you if I am unable to provide you with a puppy. The remaining balance is due on or before you pick up your puppy. The deposit can be paid by Venmo using Anne-Zeches or with a check through the mail to: Anne Zeches, 2759 Hollyhock St., Fitchburg, WI 53711

Choosing a puppy can be difficult and exciting at the same time! What constitutes the "best" puppy is so subjective and what becomes of a puppy is very much in the hands of its owner. As long as you are buying a properly socialized, healthy and well-structured puppy from a sound breeding by a reputable breeder, you will have the raw material for a great hunter and family companion. My job as the breeder is to provide you with this raw material. Your job is to nurture, expose, socialize and train your puppy to be the best dog he/she can be. Puppies are ready for their new home between 8-10 weeks old. I also raise the puppies using the protocol outlined in Puppy Culture. Hunt Testing
I strongly encourage you to test your pup in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association. The tests provide information for me and other breeders to make smart decisions for future pairings. The entry level Natural Ability test is an important evaluation of the young dog's natural hunting qualities. This also helps develop your pup into a good hunting companion and provides you with a network of resources for training. It is a great bonding experience for both of you and prepares your pup for the hunting season.

Shotgun Rider puppies come with a three year health guarantee written into the contract.
- If, within five (5) business days of the puppy arriving to his/her new home, he/she is determined to be in ill health (by a licensed veterinarian), and you provide me with a copy of the veterinarian's invoice for services, I will reimburse you up to $250 for the cost of medications and/or procedures by your veterinarian to return the puppy back to good health.
- If your Munsterlander is diagnosed (by a licensed veterinarian) with a genetic illness or defect that will:
- Prohibit him/her from hunting now or in the future
- Significantly limit the amount of time per day he/she can hunt from what would be considered normal
- or causes his/her premature death
